A Perfect Home for Damaged Books: The Little Free Library.
Some of the hardcover copies of Princess Cheyenne arrived with damaged dust covers. Instead of tossing them, I downloaded the Little Free Library app and popped them into circulation.
Little Free Library (LFL) boxes are pole-mounted with clear front doors and filled with books. They operate on an honor system whose slogan is, “Take a book, share a book,” and provide 24/7 access.
There are 200,000 LFLs spread over 50 states, 7 continents, and 128 countries and are all part of a nonprofit organization in St. Paul, Minnesota. Each box has a volunteer “steward” and LFL provides the materials and training.
No sense wasting a fabulous book!
